Having seen koalas myself on Leslie Drive, Noosa Heads, I was delighted when someone uploaded a sighting submission immediately after we launched last week, notifying members of Koala Diaries of the number and nature of koalas who frequent a couple of the blocks on Leslie Drive that are covered with koala trees. More

Our little website got off to a flying start, with thousands of hits and hundreds of members now involved. Thank you to each and every one of you for taking an active interest. Alex and I hope that our site will empower individuals and groups not already involved in koala conservation efforts, but who want to be, and also validate the efforts and concerns of those who are. As we compile more and more data we will be able to produce a very powerful presentation on what’s really going on with our koala populations in Queensland. More

Thanks to all the "koala people" who came from Brisbane, Pine Rivers, Peregian, Eerwah Vale and further afield - and especially to Bob and Judy Irwin who made a huge trip for our little launch - it was what Carolyn and I call a great day. Thanks too to the media for showing an interest, and of note, to Sunshine Coast Channels 7 and WIN, Courier Mail, ABC radio, Journal Weekender, Noosa Journal and Sunshine Coast Daily, plus Noosa News and Jamie Dunn - we look forward to keeping you up-to-date with the progress of Koala Diaries Project Location - Koala Sighting Census over the next few weeks, months and with continued support... years.
